Should I put rock on the bottom of my pond?
That depends on who you talk to. There are many people who feel adding a layer of small pebble or river rock will stop the build up of pond scum on the bottom. In most cases this is true. The rock will harbor and culture good bacteria and may actually reduce the amount of pond scum in your pond. Either way, the more good bacteria you can get going the better.
